Well, the day is finally here. My sister arrives tonight.

Many preparations have been made during the last several days. Groceries have been purchased. The carpet has been cleaned. We even dusted! Such royal treatment, I know. I guess I just want her to feel comfortable…you know, to increase the likelihood that she’ll come to visit again. Seeing her once a year over the holidays just isn’t enough.

Of course, I may be singing another tune at the end of her visit. I figure, it will either go one of two ways; we’ll either connect better than we have before and have a great time together, or we’ll fight like brothers and sisters sometimes do and I’ll I won’t even wait for the plane to take off before I peel out of the airport parking lot at the end of her visit.

I’m pretty confident it will be the former, not that latter.

Tonight we’re going to a comedy club that I’ve been to a couple of times and really enjoy. Tomorrow we’re going horseback riding in the Santa Monica Mountains, overlooking the Pacific.

Sunday or Monday we’ll probably go to an amusement park and ride roller coasters. We have some great roller coasters in Southern California, so if we choose to do that we’ll have a good time.

Bottom line: I should have some good stories to tell during the next couple of weeks. Looking forward to getting back into blogging, maybe rebuilding my reader base a little?

And I'll leave you with a joke:

Q. What's the least-used sentence in the English language?
A. "Isn't that the banjo player's Porsche?"

I'm sure you'll have a great time with your sister.

Those musician jokes are great.

I hope you and your sister connect. It is really sweet that you went through so much trouble to get ready for her visit. I hope she can see how much her visit means to you.
